About RTE Act Section 12(1)(c)
The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act (RTE Act), 2009, mandates that private, unaided schools reserve 25% of their entry-level seats (Pre-Primary/Class 1) for children belonging to economically weaker sections (EWS) and disadvantaged groups.

RTE Application Process
Online Registration
Parents must apply through the State Government RTE Portal during the official registration window.
Document Verification
Submit copy of birth certificate, income status certificate, and local address proof for validation.
Lottery Draw & Admission
The government portal conducts a randomized online lottery. Selected candidates are assigned to the school.
Eligibility Criteria
- βοΈ Age Limit: Children must be between 5 to 7 years of age as of March 31st for admission into Class 1.
- βοΈ Income Limits: Annual family income from all sources must be less than the state-mandated limit (varies by category).
- βοΈ Residential Proof: Must reside within the neighborhood radius limits of the school (typically 1-3 kms).
